PWDs Inclusion Program

Persons With Disability Inclusion Program

Anakosmos Impact Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Inclusion Program works  to achieve social inclusion for persons with disabilities (PWD) by promoting equal opportunities and non-discrimination.

Approximately 2.1 million Ghanaians are persons living with disabilities, according to the 2021 Population and Housing Census. They face various forms of discrimination and marginalization, often stemming from cultural misconceptions and inadequate education. These injustices violate fundamental human rights and deepen poverty by excluding PWDs from contributing to society.

At Anakosmos Impact , we believe in the potential of all individuals and that with the right support, persons with disabilities can contribute meaningfully to sustainable development, poverty alleviation, and equitable distribution of opportunities.

Our program empowers PWDs with valuable skills, provides pathways to employment, and serves as a model for inclusive development that promotes equal opportunities.

Our program aligns with key international frameworks, including:

  • Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
  • United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
    • Goal 4: Inclusive and equitable quality education.
    • Goal 8: Promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment, and decent work for all.
    • Goal 10: Reducing inequality by promoting the inclusion of all, including PWDs.
    • Goal 11: Making cities inclusive, safe, and sustainable.
